Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PreCase AI LLC ("PreCase," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit the PreCase website ("Site") or use the PreCase AI desktop application ("App").

The short version: the App processes everything locally on your Mac and your data never leaves your device. The Site collects only what it needs to operate a waitlist and serve you pages.

1. The App — Your Data Stays on Your Device

PreCase AI runs entirely on your Mac. All analysis, organization, and AI processing happens locally using on-device models. We do not operate cloud servers that receive, process, or store your evidence, messages, or case data.

Your data never leaves your device. PreCase does not transmit your messages, evidence, AI-generated summaries, or any personal content to PreCase AI LLC or any third party.

The App may connect to the internet only for:

• Update checks — The App checks for new versions via a public update manifest. This request contains your app version and platform. No personal data is sent.
• License verification — If you have a paid license, the App may check whether your license key has been revoked. This request contains only your license key identifier, not your name, email, or any case data.

2. The Site — What We Collect

When you visit the Site or sign up for the waitlist, we collect:

Waitlist signup

• Email address — to notify you when PreCase launches
• IP address (hashed) — stored as a salted, one-way hash for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We cannot reverse the hash to recover your IP address. We do not store your IP address in plaintext.
• Signup timestamp — when you joined the waitlist

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not use cookies, do not track you across sites, and do not collect personal information. We do not use any analytics service that profiles or fingerprints visitors. Analytics data is aggregated and cannot identify individual visitors.

What we do not collect

The Site does not use:

• Tracking cookies or third-party advertising pixels
• Fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
• Any form of personal data beyond what is listed above

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information only to:

• Send you a launch notification (waitlist email)
• Prevent abuse of the waitlist signup (hashed IP)
• Understand aggregate Site traffic (privacy-respecting analytics)
• Process payments and issue license keys (when applicable)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

The Site and related services use:

• Google Cloud Platform — hosts the Site and API infrastructure. Subject to Google Cloud Terms of Service.
• Stripe — processes payments. When you purchase a license, Stripe collects payment information directly. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Resend — sends transactional emails (waitlist notification, license delivery). Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare — DNS provider. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

• Waitlist emails — retained until you unsubscribe or we send the launch notification, whichever comes first
• Hashed IP addresses — retained alongside the waitlist entry and deleted when the waitlist entry is removed
• Payment records — retained as required by tax and accounting law

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your waitlist signup at any time by emailing privacy@precase.ai. We will delete your email and associated data within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

PreCase is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
